I really wanted to talk about Marilyn Monroe’s lips because they have a legendary status of their own! In fact, I’m surprised they don’t have their own Wikipedia page!

There are several stages to creating Marilyn’s lips. Her technique was probably the earliest form of contouring; it is comprised of applying several shades of red, going from dark to bright, starting from the outside moving in, and applying lip gloss in the end.
The first stage is outlining the lips with a really dark colour. This gradient technique of applying darker tones on the outer edges of the lips and gradually moving inwards with lighter shades creates the illusion of depth.
So outline your lips with a dark lip liner, carefully focusing on following the curved angles of your lips. How about this one:
