Beatrice Borromeo — Italian heiress, model, journalist and television personality — joined Monaco's royal family on Saturday when she married long-time boyfriend Pierre Casiraghi, the grandson of Grace Kelly and youngest son of Princess Caroline of Monaco. For the civil ceremony at the Prince's Palace of Monaco, the bride wore a custom Valentino Haute Couture gown in pale pink and gold lace silk chiffon, according to the design house. She accessorized with a floral headband.
It was only one of several dresses Borromeo wore to celebrate the first weekend of her wedding festivities. After the civil ceremony, she changed into a "more relaxed rustic ensemble complete with white gloves" for a 700-person breakfast reception, Hello reports. She then changed a third time for a party Saturday night at the Hôtel de Paris. Her evening gown (see below) was also designed by Valentino and is a custom version of this design from the spring 2015 haute couture collection.
Borromeo has a close connection to the Valentino brand. Her uncle Matteo Marzotto, who has since faced some tax problems, was the
chairman of the brand until the family sold its share to Permira in 2007. The year before, Borromeo accompanied Valentino to the Venice Film Festival for a premiere of "The Devil Wears Prada."
Following Saturday's activities, a tropical-themed day party was held on Sunday, also in Monaco, to which the bride wore a brightly colored, fruit-covered dress by Italian designer Marta Ferri. Ferri is pictured with Borromeo above.
The religious ceremony will take place August 1 in Italy on Isola Bella, one of several islands owned by the Borromeo family on Lake Maggiore. That's right, one of many islands this family owns. According to Hello, this particular island is a popular tourist spot and features a palace where two other Borromeo sisters have already tied the knot. Stay tuned for more wedding updates— and even more Valentino gowns. Because is it really a wedding to remember if it doesn't span weekends and countries?
